With my busy schedule, I end up having at least one shake a day.  I usually have them as a snack to tide me over until lunch or dinner.  Sometimes I add more ingredients/calories and have it as a second breakfast on long days.  I have been paying close attention to the ingredients in some of these pre-made protein shakes.   I’ve discovered that Slim Fast has more sugar than a Hershey’s bar.  It includes table sugars, maltodextrin, fructose and high fructose corn syrup.  Yummy!  To me, the Atkins Advantage has a bland taste and has low protein for the amount of calories.  I’ve tried Shakeology and thought it was decent, however, I’m not going to sign up with a Beach Body coach just to order shakes.
So, enough with the fake, pre-made baloney.  I’m now going to blend my own shakes so I know exactly what I’m putting in my body.  It helps to have a high quality blender.  Because I don’t have this, I use my mini food processor for vegetables and then finish off my blending in my knock off magic bullet.
